About The Project
This on-going project is about the individual in the public space, a collection of candid images of characters encountered on the streets of London. I found the unpredictable nature of documenting the variety of people one may come across in a city the size of London to be an affecting and addictive experience. Having tried to create images that carry a sense of ambiguity about them, that prompted more questions about the person than answers. The criteria for who I photograph isn’t a constant, a small detail can make the difference, the expression, the attitude in the person’s eyes, the clothes they were wearing, these photographs have been made by instinct rather than a set of rules.
